Hi,
Congratulations ~ how exciting! Have you checked out the Pregnancy 35+ community here at MedHelp?

I was pregnant with my last child in my early 40's, and I really felt blessed to have had the experience. To help stay healthy and stress free during this time, you should try to exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes a day. Light exercise such as: walking, swimming, using a stationary bicycle, or light prenatal yoga can really help reduce hypertension, anxiety, high blood pressure, and bloating/swelling during pregnancy. You might want to check local listings in your area for prenatal exercise and yoga classes ~ these can also provide emotional support and socializing with other women who are pregnant too! Eating light meals and smaller portions will help also; be sure to follow up with your prenatal vitamins... There are increased risks with older pregnancies, but don't let that worry you too much to the point where it causes you to stress out ~ most importantly, enjoy your pregnancy and stay positive...

That's great that you've seen a doctor early on. It's always a good idea to stay on schedule with all of your obstetrician appointments and keep in communication with your doctor during your entire pregnancy. Best Wishes :)

Thank you so much for the much needed encouragement! I have started making necessary changes in my diet and will incorporate yoga, walking more and bicycling. Very helpful, I will also look into the 35+ site which I may continue to gain more insight.

Congrats! 41 and preg with no.3 here. Listen word to the wise , 1st child will probably be late. They may pressure you into being induced at 42 weeks if it goes that long As me. They recieve more money to do it. If the babys hearbeat and all is well let it be. (Also as myself). They will try to probably push you into a c section .My friend is a baby delivery doc and they do this to rush the process along rather than wait.and C sections generate them more money. Disturbing but true, she verified what i always thought . They hand those things out like pez!! I made my doc wait on my 1st baby seven years ago stood strong. Baby was not in distress so not necessary. She actually took the very earrings out of her ears after delivery said her best friend made them for her but my strength she had never seen. Please stay strong. little ones have been brought into this world for hundreds and thousands of years without invasive procedures and pushy doctors$$$. Happy for you!!!
