With my first my son was born at 35weeks and he was in a crib right from the get go. Im 20weeks with my second and this little one will be in a bassinet in our room for the first couple months. Since my son has to share his room i wanted to give him time to adjust. And hopefully this baby sleeps thru the night by 3months so i can move her into her crib by then.

Glad I saw this thread. I was wondering the same thing. :-) Now I'm considering just going straight to a crib.

I moved my son into his cot at about 9 weeks old as his arms would hit the sides of the bassinet when he stretched out. I think it all depends on their size and when they outgrow it.

My first was in a crib from birth, he had his own room right across from ours so it was easy, this one however is going into a bassinet to start because of limited room in our room, and the babies room is a little further away in this house.

Its all personal preference. Our first sob was only in the bassinette in our room for the first week as he made so much noise sleeping and him and daddy.kept eachother up all night so we moved him into his own room right away

With my first two I moved them into their crib around 2 months because they were getting squirmy and the bassinet was getting too small. With this one I skipped the bassinet and put her straight in the crib.

For us it was the moment that the baby moved him/herself without real assistance. Its a little different for every baby, but once they could lift a head and chest up and were rolling at will, it was time to move. Suddenly the sides of the bassinet feel very short! Lol
