Every name that I have thought of so far I have told Dh and he always has come up with something stupid as to what he/she will get teased for if we name them that so I always have to go away and think up another name. Anyway, I only have one boy name :Sebastien, but for a girl I have Loulou, Charlotte, Daisy, Allegra, Gretchen, or Giselle. I liked Voilet, but I told my Mum that and a few days later she rang me and said that every time she thinks of the name Violet she thinks of violent, so that kinda ruined it for me.

poupone--I speak French, so I know what you mean about noix! Vincent/Vince is super-cute. I also like Julien, Guillaume, and Christophe.

Go with Abigail - that's what we named our daughter - and we call her Abby Rose - her full name is Abigail Rose Wilkes Shiles - Abigail means "father's joy" - very appropriate in this case

Well, my dh and I are both french canadians..so we don't really have the same choices in names..  But, I do want something that you can pronounce in english as well. We live 5 minutes away from Ottawa, Ontario (which is mostly english) so we do have to speak it fluently.  

I also like Noah, mostly because of Noah in Notebook (the movie)  lol  but in french people would tease and call him ''noix'' which means nuts!  The 2 words sound the same! For that reason, my dh said hell no!  So, we're thinking Vincent..pronounced of course a lil' different in french but his nickname would be Vince...which I think is pretty cute  :)

i love both your names!  My gf's husband's name is Micah.  Very cool.  I love the girl's name too.  My friends name is Genevieve.  Pronounced Zawn-vi-ev.  I would love to use it but it doesnt sound good with our last name :)

I have a huge list of like 30 names for each gender, but my dh is very picky. I have also had baby names I've always said I would used "taken"--my best friend and my sister both ripped of my names! Oh well, that was before I got pg, so now I am keeping my names more secret. I don't mind if anyone here uses any of them, just people in my family or group of friends!!

her name is Abigail Rose Wilkes Shiles and we call her Abby Rose

Abigail means "father's joy" plus one of our favorite photographers from our favorite area in the country is named Abi Garaman - so her name makes us think of him and the Jackson WY area
We both have special people in our life named Rose
Wilkes is my mom's maiden name and there is a big thing in my family about being a Wilkes girl - its also a way to honor all of the wonderful ladies who have always been such a big part of my life

We did tell people what her name would be because even if they used a portion of the name - its still HER name and we love it and that was all that was important to us - and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

I haven't commented on here in a loooooooooooong time, since I was about 5 months but I read all the time. I am now 4 days OVERDUE and my boy hasn't dropped an inch and I am not dil either! So, we go back Monday to induce or C him. Turns out he's a BIG guy. I gained 21lbs and he now weighs 8.9. I think a C will be best!

Anyway, baby name: I don't know. When I got preg, my hubby and I decided if it was a girl, I would name her, if it's a boy, he'll name him. No outside influence and you don't tell the other person till he's born. People look at me like I'm crazy and tell me it's insane to do that, but I figure if he trusts me to carry him around carefully for 9+ months, I can trust him to name him.

We named our baby boy Rhett Thomas, born 2-28-08.  Other names we were considering were Rylan Rhett, and Holden Joel.  

To Jifnif:
I know exactly what you mean. I didn't want to tell anyone.  I didn't want anyone to use it, or, give me their opinion that they did or didn't like it because I didn't want to be influenced.  In the end, my hubby couldn't keep his mouth shut and ended up telling people, but luckily, it was near the very end.  

Our families didn't even know what we were naming him until he was born!

Boy - Nolan Adam ...(my grandfather and middle brother were both Adam's) DH likes Wade though.

Girl- Gweneth or Gwyneth Fern...DH wanted just Gwen, I like more formal names, everyone would end up calling her either Gwen or Fern which is after DH's great aunt so I bet alot of his family would lean toward calling her Fern.

We've been fighting about names since before I concieved LOL!

I know exactly what you mean about someone stealing your baby name. I lost a baby girl 5 years ago and everyone knew I was naming her Briel. My EX-SISTER-IN-LAW gave the name to her son to name his daughter (who is now 4 1/2 ) I was pissed, but i'm over it now. I still don't talk to her though.

We are not going to find out the sex of this baby, but as of right now:

Ours is Noah Thomas which I found out recently is very common.  I remember naming my ds Brandon back in the '80's.  I thought it was original & lo & behold everyone else named their son that!  I can't win for anything :-)))

This may sound weird but.....do you ever not want to tell a name because you are afraid someone will steal it???  I know that sounds selfish and don't get me wrong, my names are usually unique, haha.  But still I just want a rare name.  Is that setting my kids up for being a weird kid??

My son who is 18 mths is Kannan Bodhisattva, we call him Bodhi.  :)
If this one is a boy he will be Greyson Tai or Ty.
If it is a girl it will be Kaia (pronounced Ky-yah) Faye.

William (but we'll call him "Wil" instead of Bill or Billy)

We already decided his middle name will be Vincent, which is my husband's late father's name.

We're going to settle on the first out of the choices above we we actually see the lil' bugger....which hopefully will be in the next 3 weeks....Im 37 weeks today.  Woooohooo!!  Im SO anxious to see him and hold him!!! :-)
