Anyone waxing??

I have a planned c-section on May 14th. I guess they just use the same c-section scar from previous and was wondering if anyone is getting anywhere down there waxed. Boy it would be super nice to have it clean on the scar but I'm chicken to call around (plus you have to let it grow a couple of weeks) Ugh, I'm not a hairy person but any thoughts??

sorry, didn't get a chance to get back on yesterday.

I thnk it feels like you have duck tape on you and it gets ripped off very quickly.  fast and painless if it doesnt stick to your skin.  I use a pre-epilatory oil or talc.  You can wear panties.  some girls wear a bathing suit bottom and some wear the disposable panties.  I just had a brazilian and well, they hurt a bit more and you really can't wear anything.  Go with the modest wax for now and your hair should grow back in maybe 6 to 8 weeks.  :)

Oh, I'll probably do a quick trim with a razor and that's about it.  My mother in law and I are very close (she was in the room with DD).  This time, I'll probalby have my mother in law, aunt, sister and best friend.   It's such a cool experience I want to share.  I'd be happy if they stayed at the head of the bed though.

With DD, my DH so eloquently told me that I crapped myself.  Nice.

Funny how you don't even care at the time though.

In the childbirth classes, they told us NOT to shave or wax down there because there's a risk of infection with any nicks, or open pores and that if they need to do a c-section they will shave what they need to.

I just had a c-section not even two weeks ago.  I have never had a wax so I just didn't worry about it.  The nurse said "I'm going to do ite you now" and I told her, "I was going to o it for you but I haven't seen down there in months".  She just started laughing and they barely shaving anything anyway.

Vsentz: Congrats on the new job!!!

Yes, they use the same scar location (basically...if they can see it...) you can shave or wax or whatever, but on c-day they are going to check and shave whatever they feel needs to be removed.  With a fresh sharp safety razor no less, and yes, I got nicked twice the second time around!  So much for safety.

Looking back, I think a nice waxing would be better at the location of the c-section plus an inch or two above and below just for the tape and the bandaging.  Tape and hair....not a good combination ... OUCH!  And you know that no matter how far down you wax, shave, some hair is going to find its way under the tape.
