Hi. Where have you seen those stats on unwanted babies from older women?
I've been rolling over the idea of having a baby for a few years now, but I have no prospective mate in my life and wonder if it's fair to tell my potential child there is no true father.

Or to risk abnormalities.

Girls congratulations on your stories! this really inspires!.
this tread made me call my friend a few minutes ago and while baby Samuel is crying trying to sleep I was able to give her all your good wishes, she send her best to you all as well, she said something funny, i think you should know as background that she is a Psychologist mastered in Gestalt therapy focused on kids, she said to me: "Friend, the theory is not matching the experience".
Good wishes to all! and keep the faith! ;)

Hi, it's so nice to see some familiar people on here (adgal, 40smama, prevatt77).  Congrats to you, adgal (Amanda?) on your pregnancy and to you, prevatt77 on your new little one.  I'm back on this site after having my little miracle baby at 40!  My daughter is now 5 3/4 months old and we just started TTC for #2 this week.  I will be checking the site for your updates...best of luck to all of you 40+ women TTC - stay positive!

I think I have been lucky with regard to Dr.'s.  I haven't worked with an RE as it takes forever to get into the fertility clinic here, but have had 2 fantastic OB's (although the one now could use a little lesson on bedside manner, but she is good, so I guess that's what's important).  Neither has ever tried to deter me with regards to my age.  In fact the one I have now gave birth to her first child in her 40's after several miscarriages.  She even told me that it wasn't time yet for intervention (ie: donor eggs).  She believed I could do this naturally.  I am so glad I listened to her.  Good luck ladies!!
