Baby shower... why?

So, I had a baby shower at home today... it was really nice, cool people showed up and we had fun... but some good friends didnt drop by for stupid reasons, which made me sad... others confirmed they would come and.... nothing! Bought a lot of food for nothing. Now everything is a mess and we have to do the washing up. Feeling happy for the good friends I received but u know what? I hate throwing parties...

People have no RSVP courtesy anymore.

For me it was opposite. My in laws threw me a baby shower since I'm out of my home state (hawaii) and have no friends here in Louisiana. They invited all the women in the family (my husband has a very large Irish family) but only a couple of them RSVP'd and a couple of my husband's friends girlfriends. So my in laws didn't have that much food cause thy weren't expecting very many people. Well every person we sent invitations to (35 people) minus 2 people showed up! They had to go and make a trip to get more food cause they had only expected 10 people to come since they were the only ones to RSVP. So I guess party's can turn out either way.

I know the feeling! You find out who truly cares at times like this! I had my shower a few weeks ago... 32 people that said they were coming just didn't show up! I hope you still enjoyed and got what you needed!
