Breast growth when breastsfeeding

Hello! So i am 29 weeks pregnant, and have had an embarrassing pregnancy symptom the last few weeks - breast leakage- esp out of one of my breasts.. anyhow i just bought some nursing pads today.. But my question is does breast size change much from this point of pregnancy as compared to after pregnancy when breastfeeding? I want to have everything i can in order before our little girl gets here, but not sure what size nursing bra to get - the same size i am now/ bigger/smaller?   Any advice is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!! Oh, and does the leakage continue once your breast feeding? or is it only when you hear your baby cry and other things like that? now it just happens whenever, it seems!!

I was an early "leaker" when I was pregnant with both of my kids.  It started in my fifth month; so much so, that I put toilet tissue in my bra during the day.  When I took a shower at night, the leakage really flowed.  Of course, it's not milk yet, but a very thin mixture of colostrum.  I remember my OB telling me that some women leak early.  I sure did.

As far as bra size, my size went up two full cup sizes when my milk came in.  My father-in-law said that he was going home, after visiting me after the birth, to build me a shelf, just to "rest those things on."  He said this in front of the nurse.  He always embarrassed me, but he really was a funny man.

I can't believe that you are only about 10 weeks until delivery.  Wow, I can't wait to see your new baby pictures.  You've been waiting for this baby for a long time.

thanks so much!!! yea my dr said it was normal to leak this early, but it is kinda crazy i think!   Being a small breasted woman, (even though i've heard size doensn't matter when it comes to breastfeeding) i was always afraid they wouldnt' "work" as well! haha.. but now with this hopging maybe they will produce plenty! i asked my dr if it was a sign of premature labor which i was worried about, she said no thank goodness!
humm... well maybe i will hold off on buying a nursing bra for now then.. just wanted to get all my shopping and things liek that out of the way before she gets here!! thanks!

I bought the bra size that I was wearing while pregnant, but my breast were so swollen and full of milk once I started nursing, I had to go up a size. After about three months, I was back to the size smaller.
Leakage can be constant for some women. I went through half a box of breast pads, my friend went through 3!

It depends on the woman. I breastfed for over a year and never once leaked or needed breast pads. Sounds like you will have lots of milk for your new little one and that's great.

i don't know about size, but I think it is pretty uncommon for them to be leaking aready.. usually they don't leak until the milk comes in which is typically 3 to 5 days after the baby is born.

In the early weeks and months after your baby is born you leak a bunch but then it starts to slow down.. I only breast fed for three months.. so I can't really speak for beyond that..

I'm glad everything is going so well other wise.
