Doggone Brown Spotting STILL!

Ugh! So frustrated this morning....I took a home test and it was a BFN. I'm guessing I'm either 12 or 13 dpo today. I've had brown and light pink spotting (very intermittingly) since about 5 dpo accompanied by cramps so I totally thought it was from implantation. I have never had any mid-cycle spotting in my life! Just went to the restroom and had a good amount of darker brown (watery) discharge on my pantyliner....what the heck?! This is so not normal for me and I'm concerned that if I'm not pregnant, then what's causing this to happen? And if I AM pregnant, is this a bad sign? Any similar situations and their outcomes would be much appreciated. I'm 38 (3 months away from 39) and don't want to have a baby when I'm 40! Well, I shouldn't say that...but.... :)

Thanks for your comments. If AF doesn't rear her ugly head by Monday, I'll call my doctor. I'm a firm believer in timing and if this isn't our month, then it isn't our month. We'll just keep trying.. :)

It could be pregnancy and just too early for a positive test.  It could also be breakthrough bleeding/spotting which is not uncommon, even if you have never had it before.  That can be due from anything from a mild hormonal imbalance to rough sex...and a million other things. Typically it's nothing to be concerned about though.  Just annoying.  I personally never experienced implantation bleeding and it's not super common, although it certainly happens.  I know the wait is awful, but at this point it's really all you can do.  Once pregnancy has been confirmed or ruled out, your Dr. can do some tests if necessary to try to find out what caused the bleeding.  Good luck to you, and SSBD.
