Me and the father of my baby girl are not on good terms and I'm not sure that he is gonna be at the hospital or not. But if I still want to give her his last name, does he have to be there to sign off on that and for his name to be on the birth certificate? I'm just wonder. I don't want to go threw all that court stuff to changer her last name if i gave her mine and to put him on the ticket.

Just had my son on June 25th. You can name her what ever you want,  if you want her to have his last name write it on there. The only thing he has to be present for is his acknowledgement that he's the father. His name won't be on the birth certificate without that, but she can still have his last name if you so choose.

Of course you can put the babies daddy last name on your baby!! The only reason that he will need to be present(if you want) is if you want his name to show on the birth certificate which also requires his signature..

i agree besides if everything gets well between u two you can always change it back

I was just put your last name on the birth certificate, my sister did and she was still able to get child support. She'd been married for 4 years and her babies fathers still don't care about seeing their kids. So to save yourself the drama, let your baby have your last name, and if he gets mad, oh we'll he wants to be difficult let him.
