Cervix & CM observation

So - I've started to chart my cervical & CM changes as I am waiting on AF after my miscarriage last month (10/19).

I started last Monday & here's what I've got...
Date      Cervix                                CM
11/9       high, soft, open (slightly)      white, watery
10          high, soft, open                   white, watery
11*         high, soft, open                   EWCM
12          high, soft, open                   EWCM
13          high, soft, open                   EWCM
14          high, soft, open                   clear, slippery
15          high, soft, open                   clear, slippery
16          high, medium, open             white, milky
17          high, medium, open             white, milky
Actually cervix, on 11/16 & 17 feels soft & puffy (fleshy) on the surface but is firmer underneath.

*had sex - not really BDing since we're not officially trying until after AF.
Any thoughts?  Does the cervix stay open this long?  I can still fit the tip of my finger in there.

I actually thought that I ovulated on Nov 1st due to ov pains but noticed them again last week.  I've I truly ov'ed on the 1st then I'm expecting AF this week.  BUT since my cervix is open & had ov pains last week that was probably it so AF would be due next week.  Does that sound right?

Thanks
Fugitive

Yeah, I am barely awake in the morning much less coherent.  I'll probably write some crazy things on my chart rather than the temp.

lol  I just had to laugh since I have seen that site too and was speechless about the tasting of the cervical mucus.   When you do start your tracking your temps, be sure to do it before getting out of bed in the morning, before drinking anything and around the same time each morning.  My prob is that I forget to keep it by the bed and I get up so early on the weekdays that when I sleep in a bit on the weekends it throws off my schedule so I tend to forget.

Thanks guys!

I'm going to get a basal thermometer this weekend & add temp to my tracking.  I've got the ov predictor strips too but I thought that since I haven't gotten AF yet that any residual hormones might mess with the results.  Mt hCG levels as of 11/9 are 35, down from 580 on 10/26.

I do have one child but she was born via c/s - breech so I've never delivered vaginally.  I guess it will just be a matter of time until I recognize the changes in my body & begin to see the patterns.

I found some great infor here...

Specifically on Cervical Obsevation here...with great photos!

She makes mention that if we grossed out by this, she writes, "While you might think tasting your cervical fluids is gross, it is not, and that response is based in the patriarchal brainwashing we all receive from the day we were born into this world which we live."  I love it!!

Boy!  This **** is for the patient which I am not!  I'll keep you posted!

I never even attempted to check my cervix.  I always just went by ovulation predictor kits, so no help here.  But I do wish you lots of luck!!

I used to chart and could never tell the difference between open and closed, so I just used high, medium, low and soft or firm (I've never been able to fit my fingertip in there, though). But udbe is right, it's supposed to be open right before and up till the time of ovulation and closed after. Based on your cervical mucus, I would guess you ovulated on  the 15th...but it's hard to tell by your cervix, since it hasn't changed much. Do you chart your temps, too? That would really help you pinpoint ovulation.

From what I understand that after ovulation the cervix will close until AF arrives however women who have had a child before will notice that their cervix is a different shape than before having a child and it will sometimes appear to be slightly open all of the time.
