I took prometrium orally instead of via suppository, and didn't have any issues with it. The side effects tend to mimic pregnancy symptoms, so no real problem at all.
Congrats on your pregnancy, and all the best to you!
Hi, I have a history of miscarriage. I am 41 and am 4 weeks pregnant. My obs/gynae dr has put on pregnyl injections twice weekly, asprin and vitamins and has recommend I start provera medroxyprogesterone acetatae oral tabs 20mg x3 a day from week 5. I am a bit unsure about the provera due to some side effects? How did you find the prometrium I think its similar.
Hi there and congrats on your pregnancy. I am the person Ocean referred to..I also have had several miscarriages. I am actually currently experiencing my 6th as we speak. This is my 7th pregnancy, 6th loss. My 6th pregnancy resulted in a beautiful healthy amazing boy who is now 10 months old and the light of my life. I don't know why some of us go through this and have it tougher, but there are many other women like me out there who also have had a positive outcome.
I am not certain if you had any testing. My OB has me on..daily low dose asprin, 100X3 per day prometrium (progesterone supplement), fish oil and prenatal vitamins. I take all except the prometrium even while not pregnant (we plan to try again as soon as possible).
I know it's hard, but stay strong and keep believing. I got to the point I never thought it would happen for me, yet here he is. It's scary but just take it one day at a time!
I was in a similar situation as you, and am now 19 1/2 weeks pregnant with a healthy little boy. I am 43 years old, had been trying for over a year and a half and had 2 m/c's along the way. Its possible, just stay hopeful. good luck to you for a happy healthy 9 months.
adgal (the group leader) was in that situation but she's taking a little break from medhelp at the moment. she had several miscarriages and went on to have a healthy baby boy. good luck with your pregnancy,
joanne
