Daddy-to-be at the baby shower?

Hi- I've never had a baby shower before so, it's all new to me.  I was just wondering how you all felt about having the Daddy at the baby shower with you?  I would love that and to me, it seems like he should be there being as it's a baby shower and all about the baby.  He is so very excited about the baby and it's a shame to not have him there.  How do you feel about it and have you seen that before or not?

My hubby is great and has been 100% supportive with everything during this pregnancy etc. I could not begin to say enough great things about him...however, I would have to admit that if I asked him to stay at the baby shower I am sure he would have wanted to shoot me. LOL   He went out with the boys to boy stores, got some lunch and had some afternoon beers which was totally OK with me. I guess it just depends on the guy. Hubby was very excited though to go through all the cool gifts we got and assemble then when we got home. He drove me to my shower out of town and did everything I asked :)  I have not been to a co-ed shower but could def imagine some of my freinds hubbys who would probably enjoy it.

We had our baby shower over the weekend.  Daddy was there along with my co-workers, friends and family.  We had a wonderful time visiting and he helped with opening the presents and carrying everything out.  I was very happy he was there.

I had over 100 people at my shower and it was co-ed and my hubby was there.  He opened half of the gifts and I opened the other half, with the help of my 16 year old daughter.  We all had a blast.

No wrong way pr right way when it comes to showers.

Just so happens my girlfriends planned it only with women coming and my boyfriend really does not want to socialize or hang around but does want to meet everyone in the last hour or so (he has yet to meet 90% of relatives and friends)

Guess him and my dad are going out doing some "guy guy " thing...lol

Yep, coed showers are very fun!  My family and friends had two different showers for me.  One was coed and the other was just girls ....BUT...(and this is a great idea...) some of my husband's closest friends...same guys that threw his bachelor party, etc.  had a diaper party.  They provided food and refreshments for the party, handed out invites and all the men had to do is bring a package of diapers of all different sizes.  I didn't have to buy diapers for months...it was great....and the men had such an awesome time!

However, I did love the coed shower....tons of fun!

My big baby shower is next weekend...Ryder will be 6 weeks old!  It is also Co-Ed, and my husband will be there.  My friends wanted to do it this way, and it's not uncommon.  They like to have the baby present.  I had two smaller showers prior to his birth, but this is the big one.  I don't think there is any right or wrong way to do it.

It is very common now for the father to also be present at he baby shower. By all means he should celebrate with you!

At mine, my hubby showed up at the end. That's how most of the ones I've been to are. My SIL is throwing me another one since it's been a LONG time since my last. I'm hoping my hubby and all my kids can be there.

My baby shower was a big party and my fiance was there to celebrate.  I liked him being there because it's his baby to, why not be able to share in the festivities.

I had my shower about weeks ago which was a surprise party. We both had no clue until we walked in and my husband was there for the party. I am glad he was a part of it.

My shower is in a few weeks and I told my husband to drop me off and then come back in an hour.  I want him to be there.  There will be many people at our shower that haven't seen my husband in awhile - so that gives them a chance to catch up with him and since this may be our one and only - I don't want him to miss out on anything.

My baby shower is scheduled for next weekend and everyone is coming, male and female. A lot of the family that is coming is from out of town, so we don't see them that often and it wouldn't be right just to invite the women. We are doing it more of a get together and having a barbecue so that nobody feels left out.

I've been been to so many baby showers the past few years...what I notice (and will be with mine that is next week) is the Daddy drops of mommy...leave to do his thing and comes near the end. He may come so we open gifts together but the social part/lunch/etc he will not since no guys will be there.

It is pretty boring for guys.

I;ve seen it, but the baby shower was co-ed, it wasn't just the daddy to be and everyone else there was female.  It was more like an adult party, everyone was pretty young and knew each other really well, and this was a group that had pretty much all their parties include each other, so it was quite natural.  When there is a mix of men and women at a shower, it involves a little more wine and a lot fewer silly shower games.  Guys like cool baby stuff, so there were some nice gifts, like a jogging stroller.
