Emma Grace has arrived!

I've been home a few days now and finally heve gotten the chance to pop in here!  My little Emma came on May 8 at approx 2 PM via repeat c-sec as was planned only a bit earlier than planned :)  She was 19 inches and 6lbs 9oz

The whole delivery was rather surreal. I had seen the doc on tuesday  the 6th and he was surprised to find me 5 cm dialated already. I was not leaking or bleeding or feeling contractions, so he sent me home and said to call if anything changed. So I was packing my bag Thursday morning and feeling little twinges now and again, so I started thinking "should I call the doctor?".

I was hemming and hawing so I called mom instead (my hubby, Dan, was at his dad's house and I expected him home any minute). We talked for a bit and she said to call Dan and get him home and see what his opinion was. Anyway he came in right after I hung up with mom and told me to call the doc right away - he's a lot more nervous about such things than me. The doc said go to the hospital. I figured they would hook me up to monitors and probably plan the c-section for the next day.

When we got there the doctor in L&D was acting like she was just going to send me home - because I was not feeling anything and did not seem to be in labor, but she did a pelvic exam and I was 7cm - she said this to the nurse who rushed out and we could hear her tell the others outside and all this hullabaloo broke out, and it was - you are going to get your c-sec right now!

Luckily my regular doctor was available so we just had to wait for him to make it to the hospital. It was like a whirlwind and before I knew it little Emma Grace was here. My recovery from the surgery has been strangely easy too. I have some pain but it is not like I remember from Helen - I seem to be moving through the various stages much more quickly this time.

Emma's a real sweety, mostly sleeps, and only screams when we change all her clothes, so we try and keep her clean so we don't have to do it too often.

I now have to look through the forum and see if I missed anyone else's debut!
