Evening Primrose Oil

Hi ladies..... I've been in slow labour for 6days now, last night was the worst night by far, contractions got 4mins apart and really quite strong. When I got examined they told me my cervix is still really thick so got quite a way to go yet. I'm 38+3 , baby has been engaged from 36 I suffer bad from SPD and now I'm contracting for my 6th day in a row....  :'( I have read that EPO can help thin the cervix. Is this true? Has it worked for anyone else? I eat fresh pineapple every day and have sex as much as I can bear (not very romantic when youre have contractions) ..... any advice would be helpful thank you xx

Well I've already spoken to my midwife about it now and she said I can take it orally and Pierce a hole in one to insert with cleansed hands.

We'll see how it goes x

Hello, if you're taking about inserting it then I have heard it is dangerous as can introduce infection especially if your cervix is already opening. I've heard of women opening the capsules and rubbing it on their tummies instead. Not sure if it's effective or not but if it's safe then it's worth a go. All the best.
