I am 40 years old, and I am 6 weeks pregnant. I feel tired and sleepy all the time, all I want to do is sleep and eat. is this normal?

From what I can gather, 6 weeks is the first milestone to get past, then after the first trimester is over the threat of miscarriage decreases greatly.

Differs from pregnancy to pregnancy and trimester too. Had my baby 2 weeks ago n had lots of energy throughout, could not stay sitted much always on my feet and did  lots of excercises. Its a phase thatis likely to pass but if it does not its still normal

This is my 4th and I'm 42.. this has been by far the hardest pregnancy.  I'm 32 weeks pregnant.   My other children didn't phase me.  Of course I was very young when I had my other children.  I'm exhausted 90 percent of the time.  I'm looking forward to having my baby girl.  Im not having another that's for sure.  I usually take 2 naps a day when I don't work... LOL

Yes, it's normal.  I just miscarried at 6wks pregnant, but as early as 3 weeks I felt like sleeping a lot.  And I'm not a good sleeper, usually I sleep 6.5 hours per night.  That went up to 10-12 hours of sleep per day.  I almost felt like I had narcolepsy.  I'm also almost 40 (in July) and this was my first pregnancy

This is very normal. The tiredness may last through the first trimester. Im 36 yrs old and 17w 6d with my third child. I have been way more tired with this pregnancy. i am guessing its because Im older. lol
