The paranoia begins....

So yesterday I had 2 positive FRER.  The first was FMU, the second, well, I "held it"..lol for about 4 hours.  They were clear positives, although very faint.  Not evaporation lines though, they did come up in the first couple of minutes, were in the right place and were pink, not grey. They were also about the same thickness as the control line.  I am 99.9% certain they were positive, not evaporation lines. This morning, same thing with FMU and FRER.  (I get DH to confirm, as I don't trust myself...the wishful thinking positive, know what I mean?).  So what's bothering me is this morning wasn't any darker...about the same.  And the ClearBlue Digital I took at the same time (I know, I am a freak!!lol) said Not Pregnant.  I looked up the two tests, and FRER tests at a much lower level then the Digital, but shouldn't the FRER be getting darker....I am worried about another chemical pregnancy.  According to the info I could find, FRER has picked up HCG as low as 6.3 ml and ClearBlue is rated at 50, but can often pick up at 25.  I only waited less then 24 hours between yesterday mornings and today, so I guess it shouldn't double yet, but what do you guys think?  AF would be due monday, so I just think that at 13DPO my HCG level should be at least 50...no?  Thanks everyone, I am really worried.  Amanda

Wow Amanda- Congrats!!  I haven't been on the board too often lately, and just now logged on and YEA!!!  I'm sooo happy for you!!  What an Easter miracle for you!

Like everyone above said, try not to freak out about the darkness of lines. Tanker Chic is right- they aren't designed to necessarily get darker as a means of "how pregnant you are".  There could be different amounts of dye in each of them, so darkness can vary.  A line is a line!  (I know, I know, it's hard NOT to compare though... I ended up having a whole medicine cabinet shelf lined up full of them until I finally got to see my OB and got it confirmed that I was indeed pg.

Anyway, I'll be saying many prayers that you have a happy and uneventful next 9 months!!  YEA!!!!!!!!!   :) :)

I would not worry about the line not getting darker... they aren't meant to be used in that way.  I had to wait a week between my beta tests and tried to do similar comparison.  I poas everyday for 7 days.  Everyone of them were the about the same.  

The FRER digital is pretty good.  I would run out and get one of them.  You feel much better seeing that "pregnant" in the little window..

I know it is hard but try to relax and enjoy the ride. The FRERs are not meant to be quantitative.  Mine did not seem much darker quite a few weeks after I got my BFP!!  I remember always thinking "Man, why are these lines still so darn light!!" but since I had already done a beta I tried not to worry or use the sticks again after that!  The best thing you can do is relax and enjoy your pregnancy!

Girl calm down!!! To get the positves that you got that many days before AF is due is a good thing!!!  I don't care how "sensitive" the tests are. With my last pregnancy (13 yrs ago) they didn't have those early tests and the day AF was due I took a test and it was positive and not very dark then. If you are that determined to keep testing...wait until the day after AF is due...which makes that Tuesday. Then take the digital if you want to see the word "pregnant." I know you are in awe at this moment but you need to keep yourself calm now and enjoy yourself. As Pam said "Back away from the pee stick" You are not dreaming...you ARE PREGNANT!!!  Take that and let in sink in so you can enjoy the next nine months!!!  We all love you and are pulling for you!

I was gone when you posted your bfp. I just wanted to say congrats!!! I am praying for a super sticky one!  I got a bfp on frer and had a beta the same day and it was 4!!!!! No, a digi won't pick that up.  I have also poas at 10wks and the frer wasn't screaming dark like I thought it would be. It took a few days for the digi to say pg..Congrats again!!!!

Feeling more positive now.  Took another just a bit ago, and its darker...not super dark yet, but at least I could get it to show on a picture.  Thanks so much again for all the hand holding...I promise I will try not to be a neurotic the whole 9 months...maybe just the next few weeks??  lol

Hang On Amanda...I'd probably be just like you with those poas', but even if you must...think & stay positive. ;o) If the need/desire rises up...go sit it down, let it flow & read on. (ha) It's gonna be ++++++++ every time. ;o) Congratulations to you & Mr. Warren.

If AF isn't due until monday that I wouldn't trust the digital at this point!!

I wouldn't trust the digital test this early.  Maybe if you're 4 days late after your period was due, but the hcg level is set at something like 50.

Hey, if you are only 13 dpo then i would say the digi might not work. Mine digital didnt say prego until i was 3 days late and that would have been 17 dpo. When would your af have been due? dont stress Amanda I know thats easier said than done but try to stay as positive as possible. STOP TESTING> lol. i think we women just know sometimes and i am positive by your posts yesterday that you know you are pregnant.

Thanks guys.  I don't know what's wrong with me.  Logic tells me that it was less then 24 hours from the 1st FRER to the third, so HCG wouldn't be expected to rise that much, but still, can't seem to stop worrying.  I know I shouldn't keep taking HPT's, but I also know I will...lol. Every time I see that 2nd pink line, it's very reassuring.  I would post pics, but we can't seem to get a clear one.  Maybe it's our camera combined with the fact that they are still so faint.  I am going to do spring cleaning, then am heading out shopping.  Sitting around stressing is going to make me (and Warren) nuts!! lol.

Back away from the pee stick...LOLO as Rachael said!  You're pregnant!  I know your head is spinning right now, and are wanting to POAS (and digital) every 20 minutes...but just go with the positive results you got...DO NOT THINK CHEMICAL!!!!  You are pregnant girlfriend!!!!!

I tested a lot starting from 10 dpo and they didn't get any darker for a LONG time, like about another 10 days, So ......... try not to worry - easier said than done. Also because my frer lines were so light that's why on the first Doctors pee test it came up negative (that was 2 days after period was due) it took the test 7 days later to come up positive for the Doctor meanwhile at thome my poas tests were still positive.

I tested with a FRER at 8 dpo and got a positive. Did a pee test at docs office and NOTHING until 18 dpo! I think you are fine and it could just be either a glitch in the test or for some odd reason it takes more hcg? Either way, you took two tests that were positive so I think you are just too early for a digital. Wait a couple days or so and retake a digi.

When I was testing freakishly frequently...lol...I didn't get the digital to show "pregnant" until 15 DPO. The FRER had a line for three days prior to that, I believe. And the lines were VERY light...didn't really start getting darker until the third day I tested. (I think the pics are still in my profile if you want to compare.) SOOOOOO....take a deeeeeep breath. Got off the toilet. And go shopping. :-)

Lol, Rachel, I wish I could do that.  I don't think that will happen until my OB's office reopens (leave it to me to get the positive on a long weekend!!) and I can get a Beta.  I just need the reassurance.  And I want a digital that says "pregnant".  FRER has never let me down, it has always been accurate for me before, so I keep telling myself that.  It's just I need reaffirmation...every few hours apparantly..lol.  I feel like a lunatic here!!

Yes, You are pregnant!  I know how hard it is to see the words "not pregnant" on a pee stick, but FRER is really good about detecting pregnancy early.  Try really hard to relax and just trust that you are pregnant.  You will see.  It will stick and everything will be just fine.  Enjoy your weekend :)

Put the pee sticks down and slowly back away! You are pregnant.... I know how hard it is to trust, but trust!!!!!!!!
