Finding this difficult

I'm finding it so hard to stay positive and not stress.  After the bleed on Tuesday night it petered out and stopped and I admit that I felt a sense of relief although I was still willing Friday to come along quicker for the scan.  This morning I had another bleed, bright red again and then this afternoon another one, this time more blood than before and still bright red.  I know I've only got to wait till tomorrow afternoon for the scan but I just feel so despondant about it all.

I bought a home doppler and although i know that you can't always pick up the heartbeat until around 14 - 16 weeks I was still hoping against all hope (I'll be 12 wks on Sat) I would hear something but all I can hear is sudden swooshing noises.  I can sometimes hear what sounds like a fast heartbeat very distant but it's only for a second and then another swoosh and it's gone.

I just want to know one way or the other.  I'm praying everything is ok, my youngest daughter is so excited and I can't bear to see her upset and i'm wishing now I'd stuck to my guns and not told anyone until after the first scan.

I hate this waiting and not knowing :(

Thank you thank you, you have both been so kind in sharing your own experiences with me and offering me words of comfort and support which are helping me so much.  I'm still hoping but at the same time I have also prepared myself for the worst.  I managed to sleep last night though goodness knows how!  It's 9.30am here now and only a few more hours to wait.  No more fresh blood since yesterday afternoon, just brown residue from yesterdays bleed.  Feel a bit teary and aprehensive this morning I must admit.

Amanda you are a star, here you are in the first stages of your labour and you still find the time to come on here and offer your support, you are a remarkable woman.  I shall let you know how things have gone when I get back from the hospital.

Once again thank you.    Helen

It is so scary to see blood isn't it.  Like Prevatt, I had it as well, and everything is fine, but there is no getting around that fear.  Don't worry at all about that doppler....I couldn't get mine to pick up much of anything until later on, and in all honesty in earlier weeks it caused me more stress then anything else.  Keep posting to let it out if that helps and try to take it easy today.  Tomorrow is not so far away, although the waiting can make it seem like an eternity.  I will be on looking for your post every chance I get tomorrow and sending lots of positive thoughts your way.  XOXO Amanda

I know how you feel.... When I was 8 weeks pregnant I had bleeding, bright red in color.  The doctor couldn't determine what it was, at 10 weeks I had even more bleeding and they still couldn't tell what was causing it.  At 12 weeks I had severe bleeding, I meant clots the size of the palm of my hand, bright red and a ton of it.  When I got to L&D they almost had to give me a blood transfusion.  I thought for sure what I was seeing was parts of the placenta.  I went to L&D and with all the bleeding I had the doctor was determined this time to find out what it was.  But first I wanted and ultrasound to see if my baby was okay first, sure enough he was moving all around and still had a good heartbeat.  Well the doctor found 2 polyps that were 1/2 way up my cervix.  They put me in the next day for emergency surgery.  I had a spinal block done and they tried to remove them, the doctor said they would have caused more bleeding if they would have removed them, so they just left them be, since that time until delivery I didn't have anymore bleeding.  I know it's hard not to worry when yo see blood when you're pregnant.  I had 5 miscarriage prior to this last pregnancy (he is now 1 year's old) and the 4 miscarriage that I did have, I new everytime I was having a miscarriage, my pregnancy symptoms just vanished and I got this huge burst of energy, like I was back to my old self again.  It was like someone took a pin and deflated my breast and they didn't even hurt anymore.  Do you still have some pregnancy sysmptoms?  But around 12 weeks pregnant your symptoms would start to fade away, so that's a hard question to answer.

Take Care and try and relax and put your feet up.  So sorry you're going through this.  Please keep us posted.
