the best.. shows the map with your house marked and any sex offenders.. has them labeled with type of crime and if you click on it you get their mug shot, crime, address everything... great to know if trick or treating...

excellent point, Pum. the overwhelming majority of offenders are known to the family, if not in the family. :( sadly, so many parents miss that this goes on right under their noses.

way too often we protect the criminal instead of the innocent... we are all screwed up in society... so many think backwards

Don't forget the most likely person to abuse your children is the person you let in your front door willingly ie friends and family, boyfriends of babysitters etc.

We don't have lists like that in NZ either.

I sure wish they did this here.  In Canada it's illegal for them to release names of sex offenders like that unless you work in police services.  The general public can't find out unless one is deemed "high risk to offend again"..which should cover any ********* if you ask me, then they release it through the papers.  Other then that, we could live right next door and not know...
