Genetic testing... anyone have experience?

I'm 12 wks and scheduled for next week. I know there will be an ultrasound and blood screen for down syndrome, but just wondering if they check for anything else or if I should call the doc and request something different or more.  Didn't think of these things in my 20s. Just wondering about others' experiences.

Thanks! I'm 40 and this will be my 4th ultrasound with this pregnancy. I'm nervous because they make it seem like you're half dead when you're over 35.

I'm 20 weeks with my 3rd I'm 38 yrs old the 12 week test consisted of checking the blood work with the ultrasound and measuring the back of the baby's neck this checks what your risks are for down syndrome. I opted to get the amniocentesis at 14 weeks because of its accuracy. You will have many testing options, don't let them force or scare you into any tests you don't want. Do your research and have faith.  :) good luck!
