Group B Strep

This is my second pregnancy, with my first one everything was fine but with this one I tested positive for the group b strep! I am very worried and can't stop thinking about it. I researched it and was mortified with what I found out about it. I am terrified! Has anyone else dealt with this? I am 38 weeks tomorrow and just can't shake this horrible feeling that I could cause harm to my baby during labor :-(

I had it... have two healthy kids!!! As long as the hospital staff is aware, it'll be fine. Like everyone said, you just are on iv of antibiotics once your water breaks. Sometimes Google is not a good idea...lol. my Dr told me not to Google cuz I would worry.(I still did) lol

I do remember my doctor saying once that if your water breaks when you are positive for it, you have to go straight to the hospital.  If you are negative, you can take your sweet time.

Thank you, its hard not to worry but I have been trying my hardest to stay positive about it. Hopefully all goes smoothly. My doctor didn't seem to concerned about it,  but also didn't say much other than being on antibiotics during labor so I came home and immediately started to google it. Thanks for the advice/reassurance, its greatly appreciated

Oh momma... Google is so.scary when researching medical things. My doctor makes it seem that they deal with it.often. It seems you just get an antibioticin your I.V and baby is going to be.fine. Don't stress it is not good for your little one.

They give you antibiotics during labor so you won't harm the baby. I had it with my first 2 pregnancies and again with this one. Don't stress. It's actually pretty common.
