Has anyone had a fetal fibronectin test?

Hi. For those who don't know me, I'm 24 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins. I have a T-shaped uterus, whic carries a risk of preterm labor, so my cervix length is measured every two weeks. At my appt yesterday, it had shortened from 3-something to 2-something. I can't remember the exact numbers. I was sent over to labor & delivery for monitoring, to make sure I wasn't having contractions, just as anprecaution. I was given a procardia med & after 5 hours, I was released. Woo-Hoo! ;) I saw my ob this morning & she did a fetal fibronectin test. I'm waiting for the results &
was told if it's positive, I'll be admitted for 48-72 hours. If it's negative, I'll be home on modified bedrest at least through next Wed. I'm praying it's negative, as I dread going back to the hospital, but of course I'll do what I have to.
Has anyone has this test? I've read there are false positives, which worries me. I should have my results in a few hours.

Quinns Momma: We were definitely in the same situation. How are you doing now?

Well, luckily my test came back negative! Woo-Hoo :) I'm only 24 weeks, so was really hoping I could rest a bit easier for a little longer. When my ob did the test, she said my cervix was tightly closed w/no bulging or anything, which is good news too. I have a follow up with the high risk doc this morning & will see my ob next Wed. Until then, I'm on modified bedrest. I feel great & at my u/s, the babies looked perfect! :) I'm feeling them move so much more & dh finally felt movement, so that was exciting :)

Funny you ask this. I had this test on Monday due to some dialation and it came back positive. I was admitted to L&D for a few hours of monitoring and was given 2 injs of Terbutaline to stop the contractions. I am 2cm and 40% effaced at 31 weeks of pregnancy. Was released from the hosp and am now on modified bed rest. Also was given oral tablets of Terbutaline in case contractions pick back up.   I had an OB appt this morning and I go back on Tues for an NST and growth u/s.

Keep me posted on your results.  It only took about 45 mins for my test results.
