Has it been a week? BOY!!

Well, after the week from H E L L, I finally feel good enough to get on and read a bit and catch up.  I had baby BLAKE (yeah, where did that come from?) last Wednesday by C-section. YES A BOY!! Thrilled to death. I had the spinal block this time which just rocked from the previous epidural.. The surgery went good, it's the recovery that killed me. The pain really was terrible and the care was absolutely worse. I am just so disappointed I can't even talk. The day I was supposed to leave I pumped because I had SOO much milk already that I think it contracted my uterus so bad it felt like I had to go to the bathroom TERRIBLY. I asked for a suppository because I thought that would work and just totally take care of things quickly. WRONG!!!! I sent my baby to the nursery and wrenched my guts for an hour and 15 min before I could finally get up and call a nurse. I ALMOST PULLED THE HELP CORD but didn't. Right back on the pot I went. The stupid BIATCH brought the baby back and yelled I thought you called because you wanted your baby. I screamed from the bathroom that's not what I asked I neeeeed my nurse.  Anyways I was just about to go into terrible detail but won't. The bruising around my staples was terrrrrible and the dumb nurse said "you're going to get bruising with abdominal surgery" NO! that's from straining for over an hour. I couldn't sit down the rest of the day basically and finally went home. There is sooo much in between but I won't bore you with the gory details.  The whole time I swear I had to ask for the pain pills and justify why. It was terrrible like I said. I won't deliver at that hospital next time if I have another baby. Oh, anyways, BLAKE EUGENE (yuck) was a whoppin 8lbs 14oz and is doing well.
I need to go catch up on everyone else :)

Kelly - I'm so sorry about your experience.  I literally could feel your pain, you poor thing!  I hope things are going better & your recovery will go a little more smoothly.  Personally, I like Blake Eugene - I had a dear friend that was named Eugene.  It wasn't one of my favorites back then but after meeting him, I changed my mind.

I hate that the nurses were so inconsiderate of you and your needs.  How do you feel about writing a letter to the hospital administrators or your dr expressing your feelings?  If anything, you could write it, put it away for a day & then re-read it and if it's something you feel should be said, then send it.  Just thought I'd share that....here's hope for a speedy recovery!!  Btw, your baby's gorgeous - CONGRATULATIONS - jennifer & noah

Hi, Kellie.  I was looking for your post at the other forum :(  I'm sorry you had such a bad experience.  I loved my hospital stay with Ariella and with Ilan, I couldn't wait to go home b/c I hated every minute of it.  I can't stand it when the nurses are rude.  They shouldn't be working with new mothers like taht b/c I feel we need the emotional support in a time such as these.  I hope you heal quickly.  How are you feeling now?  His weight is excellent :)  He looks absolutely adorable.  Enjoy the little guy!

Kellie, sorry things were so rough for you. Congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL little (BIG) boy! Being that you picked a great first name, Eugene doesn't sound all that bad. Besides, the only time you'll be saying his full name is when he is in trouble...Lol

I love the name! We chose "William" as a ;middle name and I also think it's a yuck but its a family name so we went w/ it. The first name is the most prominent anyways. Either way the name is JUST GREAT!!!

When I delivered my DD in '98 I had the worst hospital and nurse expeience ever and actually wrote the president of the hospital and she was subsequently fired. They said working on the Mother Baby Unit is an honor and no one should be treated poorly. Sounds like we had really similar experiences and I'm really sorry b/c it soured the whole memory and delivery experience for me.

I really  hope your settling in at home goes much smoother! Hang in there. I've been thinking about and pryaing for you!
