All 3 of my boys had high hb, somewhere in the 150-160's. The wives tale was never true for me...................I havent heard the hb this time so I guess we'll see:)
I think that in "later" pregnancy the heartbeat is more at a stable rate. At first it seems like they are always fast. After 20 or so weeks, it slows down to a more steady rate. I mean, w/dd it was always about 155-160 with DS it was always 140-150. I know it seems like it fits the old wives tale. Mom had 4 girls and when she was in labor w/#5 they said "honey, I don't know what you have at home, but this is a girl!" NOPE, BOY!!! I don't know, my sisters boy was lower too, it is a toss up of opinions :) Are you not finding out the sex and trying to guess?
I don't know the actual heartbeat number, but my doctor listened to my daughter;s hb when I was just 6 weeks, and instantly said that I have a girl. Even my ultrasound couldn't prove it was a girl, but he knew instantly just by the heart rate.
my ist BOY was 150'-160's 2nd was 140's-160's (girl) 3rd 150's (boy) 4th 150-160's (boy)\\so hmmm I say wise tale! never panned out for me! Doc would always laugh!
Cooper's hb was always some were between 140-180. So many people swore he was going to be a girl, but obviously he had other plans!!
With this pregnancy at my 8wk us, the hb came in at 177, so I am going with boy again and this what I want!!!
Just have fun with it and don't take it to seriously!!! Either way you are blessed!!!
dd 150-158, ds 145-158, brayden 168 was the lowest..lol
I don't believe it.
both of my daughters were above 140, but like 148 or 144.
For both of mine the wives tale proves true!!! Early on her heart rate was 178 and now it has settled mid 150.
I was just having this conversation with a girlfriend the other day. My son's heartrate never got above 142. This pregnancy BPM is always 168ish...hmmm, maybe a girl? I have heard just the opposite too!
