When I was pregnant with my first baby, my doctor told me it was ok to start pumping after 37 weeks. It stimulates uterine contractions which can sometimes help with dialating.

You can start doing things to get prepared. Like having sex, walking, bouncing on an exercise ball. Stuff like that.

I agree with shushu5. I can sympathise that you're ready, but your wee baby isn't. I was 40weeks +5 days with my first. Try to fill your time with other things for now. Trying to force things along may make the labour longer and more difficult.

Just wait till you are ready. You are only 38 weeks. It Will come natural.
