Oh I have been there! I was always hungry, I would get what I felt like eating.. then it was like ick I really don't want this. It was very frustrating lol
I totally felt this way when I was just around nine weeks, like you. The longer I waited to eat, the worse I felt (I mean, I felt sooo sick if I went more than two hours without eating), but EVERYTHING sounded gross except for a few key things (mainly fast food, like you!) Even the smell of certain foods made me feel sick. I just finally gave in to the cravings sometimes, hoping they would pass, which they did by around week 12. It's very frustrating, I agree...but I'm sure it will pass :)
My only "sickness" is craving LOSTER. My dh said it's luxury sickness. After I gave birth, luckily I dont feel craving LOSTER no more, otherwise, how could he feed me....lol.
My thing was a Wendy's Bacon Cheeseburger. Ohhhh, there were days I would have happily given an arm for one. I think it's fine to indulge cravings that aren't the healthiest at times. I mean, first priority is that you eat. I had huge food aversions in first trimester, and of course, empty tummy means more and worse nausea. Such a catch 22 isn't it. I guess this is why so many of us actually lose weight first trimester. Honestly Heather, I would eat the fries. Maybe not daily..lol, but I would go with it. Otherwise, just do your best to eat. I found once I got the first bit of food into me for the day, it got easier. So I used to put a small plate of saltines next to my bed and nibble on a couple before I got up in the morning. It helped both the nausea and the food aversions.
Thank you guys so much for the replies! Glad I'm not alone. As for giving in to my cravings...I've done that a few times already. I'm just worried that I'm not eating very healthy...but you're right, it's probably fine. Plus, I try to make up for it by eating more fruit, which still tastes pretty good. That's a good idea, though, about the saltines. I'll pick up some next time I go to the store.
:-)
