IMPORTANT QUESTION

I got a letter in the mail today from my midwife, its an appointment for the ob gyn on Thursday at 2:15. I dont go to the obgyn I have a midwife. And I already have my normal appointment with my midwife the same day only in the morning and all this paper says is "primary/billing diagnosis: supervision of normal first pregnancy.
reason for referral:OB US.
Clinical information/comments: OB US for anatomy. Prior US had limited views of sagittal spine." Thats all it says. And a sticky note where she wrote."keep this appointment"
in sorry if it sounds like a rant but im p*ssed bc I didn't get a call or anything and the paper doesnt have a specific reason as to why I need this appointment. She sent it to me on a fuc*ing weekend so I cant call and ask why until monday so I have two whole days to think about all the things that could possibly be wrong for me to need this appointment.  About 10 weeks ago I was told I didnt need anymore and wouldn't have anymore unltrasounds and I was never told anything about this appointment so I have no idea what its for and im freaking out. Like a lot. My question is has anybody had this happen? Or is this expected? Cause I know nothing about this. she never mention this. So im scared. Please someone help ease my mind bc im freaking out. Thanks

my midwife can't read ultrasounds, so I have to see the ob. it sounds like they just didn't get a good picture of the spine during your anatomy us, so you're having another one. I wouldn't worry about it.

I use a midwife and she is in the same office as an ob/gyn. Most cases I go to the midwife but there are a few times they say I have to see the ob/gyn. This is for a few reasons the main one being if for some reason your midwife is not on call (or something else) when you deliver you will be familiar with the person who will be delivering your child. Also typically a midwife works in conjunction with an ob/gym because when it comes down to it a midwife is a registered nurse (with a masters in midwifery) and an ob/gyn is a doctor. So it very normal for a midwife to work hand in hand with an ob/gyn. There is most likely nothing wrong with you at all. So I would not worry or stress about it. Definitely ask them the question as to why an appointment was made without your knowledge but don't worry that the is something wrong because there probably isn't.
