I wouldn't chance it. It's only 9 months of your life. I think the wines not the issue, it worries me that you need it to de-stress. Try to find other ways to relieve stress. I've been stressed out and worried and heard myself say 'if only I could have a glass of wine' but I didn't have one as I feel it's the wrong reason to drink.
I did it very hard to believe that alcohol is "more dangerous" than anything else- have you seen the effects of crack use on a child? I have believed that an occasional glass of wine is ok- when in moderation and it is honestly a glass, not a bottle nightly.
Everything you do affects the Baby's brain development. I am studying this subject currently in University - Alcohol is more dangerous to a developing brain than anything else.
I wouldn't chance it. If baby was slow to reach milestones later I would forever wonder if that affected him. Not worth it.
By the way...RED WINE is a source ofvprotien...glass or two not the entire bottle.
I went to the Dr.yesterday and she said occasionallly its fine...its the everyday drinking that could lead to issues such as fetal alcohol syndome...im 24 weeks will try a glass this weekend for a friend birthday an then not again for a while...my fiance is not too excited about it but...after the dr. Said its fine..im fine!!!
I would advise against it. Try to concentrate on the little precious bean growing inside you and the best chances at life you can give them. In the scheme of it all a few more months really won't hurt to be without vino.
A glass occasionally is fine. Me personally, I don't like stopping after 1 so I choose to avoid it all together. Just stay away from liquor and beer, you and baby will be fine. And of course always ask your Dr first.
As far as I know it is okay to have odd glass if special occasion etc.. Or as my Dr suggested a spritzer (even thou not the same) I had a spritzer xmas day and new yrs eve, I am 17 wks.
Once it's not constant drinking it should be fine.
