IVF while breast feeding

Has anyone had any success with IVF while breast feeding? There is a lot of mixed data on this topic. I am currently trying to wean my 1 year old as my DH and I would like to try for a second via IVF. My DD is now drinking cow's milk during the day however at night as a result of co-sleeping, she likes to nurse. My RE will reluctantly start me on a medication protocol most likely this week but has asked that I refrain from nursing 2 days post implantation as nursing may cause uterine contractions. There are studies that suggest that nursing does not negatively affect outcomes. Anyone have any info?

Hi happnifer.

Well hopefully this is good news....I saw my RE today as it is day 1 of AF and my DH and I decided to go for it. Much to our surprise, I had 9 resting follicles so far. This is the most I ever had (had 2 failed IUI's and 1 very successful IVF). Apart from that 7 were on my right ovary which never produced more than 1 if any due to scarring from endometriosis. My RE encouraged me to start a protocol tomorrow night. He is aware that my DD is nursing mostly at night....mostly for security and as a sleep aid.

I'll keep you posted.
