I'm measuring 4 weeks ahead! What does that mean?!

Hey ladies!

I just came back from a doctor's appointment. She measured my belly and she said I was measuring 34 weeks..I'm only 30weeks pregnant.. Last appointment, 4 weeks ago, I was measuring 3 weeks ahead.  So, it seems consistent.  She scheduled an u/s for April 15th to see the baby's growth.  She said maybe the baby's bigger or there's more amniotic fluid..  Did this happen to any of you..and if so, what happened, what could happen? Could I give birth earlier? What are possible reasons why the baby would be ahead in the growth process?

Any input is appreciated..thanks girls!

Here's my experience, I was measuring 2 1/2 weeks ahead since my 30th week. It was consistant every week. My baby never dropped and I never dilated and the little bugger was STILL almost 2 weeks LATE when we took him by C-sect. I gained 21lbs with my pregnancy and he weighed 10.5 perfect pounds when born. He was just a big chunk! Unfortunately, I have a very small pelvis and there was NO WAY a 10lb baby could get out the "reg" way, so he just hung out really high till we came and got him. You could just have a big baby, my Dr said the whole time that a big measure DOES NOT mean your baby will be early at all, it just means he's most likely a big baby.

Hey Melanie- I have no idea what this means.. are you sure on your dates? Maybe there is more amniotic fluid in there? I haven't had an ultrasound to confirm me being futher along but when they measured my belly the other day they told me I was measuring 35 weeks... I'm only 34.. I know this isn't 4 weeks difference so I don't know what it means for you.. Hopefully they will know more when you have the ultrasound on the 15th!
