In need of some advice!!!

Im 37+3 and over the weekend have been loosing parts of my mucous plug. The last two days I've had severe back pain and pain at the front of my pelvic bone feels like someone has kicked me, feeling very tender and bruised. My baby has been engaged for a couple of weeks but keeps moving slightly up and down. I've also had bad diarrhea yesterday. I haven't had an internal yet so am not sure if anything is happening and there are no midwives available until the end of next week!! Im getting really frustrated at not knowing why Im getting all of this pain. I have pgp in my hips, so it could be a problem with my pelvis or maybe it's the head engaging more as I have a lot of pressure low down too. Im not sure whether I should just wait it out until I can see a midwife or not?

Almost sorry it was spd...I literally had a hot pack in my pants for the whole last wk before they finally scheduled my induction which of course sent me into labor. My coworkers gave me an exersize ball to sit on...that helped too. Hang in there!!

Thanks. It is spd and pgp so Im going to be induced in 2 weeks as my pelvis has become very unstable so may cause a lot of problems if I carry full term or go overdue. Hot baths help a little so I'll spend the next couple of weeks in it lol. Just have to grin and bear it for two more weeks!

I had severe pain and the kicked in the pelvis feelings with my son...it turned out to be symphasis pubic dysfunction. Was miserable till I delivered if I didnt have a hot water bottle on my pelvic region.  Try warm compress if its not labor...and good luck!! :)

Thanks for your concern. I managed to get some sleep and am now trying to get a doctors appointment. The back pain is worse but I now have a temperature too. Still not convinced it's labor but hoping the doctor can shed some light!

Wishing you good luck, just remember even if it isnt active labor even braxon hix contractions help move your body into position for labor so please be careful

Can you just call and see what they think?  Just in case?

Thanks. The pain is manageable at the moment. I can only really go to hospital if I know for sure as the only option I have for childcare with my other children at night I have to pay for and it isn't cheap! Im hoping I can hold out until the morning.

This does sound like perhaps early labor.  Up to you if you want to head to L&D.  You know your body, especially after 4 pregnancies.  Follow your instincts.  It doesn't sound like active labor to me, but of course everyones experience is very very different, and when in doubt, give your midwife or Dr. a call.  Take care and good luck.

It does sound similar. I'll get checked at the doctors in the morning unless it gets worse overnight. I didn't even consider back labor! Fingers crossed it's just baby moving even further down and getting ready for the big day

Even if it isnt labor, i wouldnt run the risk of having any issues at this point without being checked out rite away.

Out of my 5 pgs only 1 was back labor. It felt very much like i needed to have a bm, was in no way timable but hurt so bad that i could barely stand when it hit. I called ob and went to hospital to be checked, i was only 24 weeks so they stopped contractions but assured me that it was back labor and to come back asap it it happened again. I did notice when the pains were at worst my belly was hard simmilar to contractions but still not quite the same.

I don't think it is labor. Its my 4th pregnancy and this has been going on for a couple of days but I've never experienced back labor before and the pain is constant, not coming and going like contractions
