Is MetroGel safe to use during your first trimester?

I  was diagnosed with BV by my PCP.  Prescribed MetroGel.  The same night I found out I was pregnant.  I'm VERY newly pregnant. They're guessing about 4 weeks.   I've asked my gyneocologist's PA and my PCP.  Both said were okay to use the gel, but I've read horrible things about it.  Everything said not to and I've read it causes miscarriages.  I'm using it, because I hear that BV can cause miscarriage too. It's like I can't win.  Being first time pregnant, I'm paranoid about everything and now I'm terrified!  Has anyone else used MetroGel for BV and been okay?
