Just found out I have to have a C-Section..Placenta not moving..Any one have advice on Csections?

Hey girls,
Well we went for a 30 week ultrasound and the placenta has not moved enough to allow a natural delivery so e had to schedule me for a Csection at 38 weeks.  I'm nervous as I had a natural delivery with my daughter.  Any advice?  Is it that much more painful?  Will I be unable to do anything for weeks after?

I can't give you any advice here, but as always am wishing you well.  There seems to be so many here that have had c-sections and I have never heard any awful stories or anything.  I am sure everything will be great!!

I also think my section was a breeze...but I did not have a toddler running around at the time either!!  I did take the percocet they prescribed while in the hospital and for a few days at home but then just took ibuprofen as needed.  The hardest part for me was getting up from a laying position but other than that no problems. I even did laundry the day we got home from the hospital (dh carried it for me though!).  It might be harder with Sofia if she likes to be carried because she will be too heavy to lift at first.  Best of luck!!  I have been wondering how you are doing!!  So now when is the scheduled due date??

i also think that c section was a breeze - just had one two and a half weeks ago- the pain was very very minimal! : )    i went home and never filled my prescription for the vicoden.. i took maybe one or two of the motrin they prescribed.... it was the easiest surgery i had ever had, plus you get such an amazing reward! : ) good luck!

I have had two my self. With the first one I was in pain for about a week, but that was mainly because I had to walk around Children's Hospital due to Cooper having heart surgery there. I never really had the chance to recover because we were so focused on my little man.

My second one was a breeze. I was up and at it in no time.  I agree with the other two fabulous ladies, take your pain meds and do not try to overdue it!! You can still take great care of your baby, so do not stress about that!!!

By the way do not try to exercise before 8 weeks (walking is okay) I tried to go back to my Yoga Booty Ballet and I thought I was going to die! It hurt my stomach so bad and it also made me start bleeding again........so stay away from working out!!!!

Congrats your getting so close!!!

Take the Advil on schedule, don't lift anything too heavy (out of all the things i did that i shouldn't have done this is the thing that could have really set me back - on the other hand it was the kitchen table). I was driving at day 13 but don't tell anyone :-O)
I had a great recovery. Good Luck,
J

After my c-section I walked out of the hospital with no pain in 3 days.  Was perfectly able to take care of my baby and all.  I think I recovered faster than my cousin after her natural delivery.  It just depends on a person, I guess.  You will be cleared for action in 6 weeks just like after a natural delivery.
Good luck!
