Don't fret too much.  My one hour test came back very high (179) but my three hour results were quite low.  If I am ever pregnant again, I will fast before the one hour test even though they told me not to because I'm kind of annoyed that I had to do the three hour test for nothing.  Good luck!

actually fasting prior to the 1 hour test can result in false positive readings.
they are looking for your response to the sugar amount you are taking and if you are fasted, that can spike your sugar abnormally.
that's why it is important to follow the directions given for a particular test
now don't go and eat a bowl of frosted flakes just prior to your test either.
eat sensibly, limit sugars and simple carbs and make certain you are getting plenty of protein with every meal (average singleton pregnancy recommended protein intake is 100g per day)

maybe they are doing something different, but the standard 1 hour glucola test is a non-fasting test.  the 3 hour test is traditionally a fasting test.
either way, there are still lots of false positives on it, so as long as you eat well you are likely going to be fine.

I am sorry you have to do the 3 hr test but I have gestational diabetes and this is my second pregnancy with it. Don't worry even if you do have it normally things are fine with just the dietary changes and exercise take care of it.

I just had a blood test for hemoglobin A1C & came back slightly elevated. My # was a 6.  Does anyone have a chart for this?  I had it redone on tuesday, waiting on results.
I really don't want to do the 3hr test.

hemoglobin has nothing to do with the 3h glucose test.
hemoglobin is involved in red blood cell development ...

Jennifer, I am not sure why you think it's nothing to do with glucose.........but if you google it you will see you are wrong.

What is the hemoglobin A1c test?
The hemoglobin A1c test (also called H-b-A-one-c) is a simple lab test that shows the average amount of sugar (also called glucose) that has been in a person's blood over the last 3 months.
The hemoglobin A1c test shows if a person's blood sugar is close to normal or too high. It is the best test for a health care provider to tell if a person's blood sugar is under control.
