Congratulations! I am turning 44 in 3 weeks & I just found out that I am 4 weeks pregnant. I'm happy & a little freaked all at the same time. I am a mother of 5, the last were twins who are now 11. It was my understanding the percentages of conceiving at 43 were 1 - 3 percent, so I'll tell you what I told myself. It's fate. Wishing you good luck!
Thanks. But, there's also the control that you have with IVF that you just don't have naturally. Plus, the use of donor eggs ensured health, pretty much. If you haven't yet found a doctor, the top fertility specialist in the world (specializing in men's issues) is Dr. Sherman Silber in St. Louis. Fast, fast, fast. He is a genius.
Wow, that's fabulous! How funny you were able to get pregnant all on your own even after having to do IVF! Too bad that won't ever be true for me--my husband has a congenital defect that makes it physically impossible for us to ever conceive naturally. Very, very happy for you! Lucky you getting to skip all the shots, etc :)
Well, I'll tell you what, we paid 35k a few years ago ( i was 44) awesome dr. but he said instead of trying just go the donor route. So we did. I have an eighteen month old I absolutely adore. AND I have seven perfect frozen embryos. We were just getting ready to go back again, and didn't have to. The fertility dr is sort of in shock to say the least.
Congrats! Hey, at least you were able to get knocked up for free... I had to do IVF, which is definitely no picnic LOL! Keep us posted...
Congratulations! I know it's a shocker! I was 45 when I delivered my second child, she will soon be 3! I wish you a healthy and uneventful 9 months ahead!!
I don't want twins!!!!! Ughhhh!!!!
I'm 45 1/2 and 7 weeks pregnant. We have been hoping to get knocked up for about 18 mos. We are excited! And it looks like we are having twins. Will know for sure in about 10 days at our next ultrasound. Hope my story helps.
hehe it was the sex woman!! :) congrats, now you know your going to get the hell talk from the doctors etc about being a high risk pregnancy and the huge risks of chromesome problems that you could be facing so just enjoy this shaky moment :)
Congrats! I'm not 46 but will be 40 this summer and lo will be born in september. We plan on having another shortly after but who knows how long it will actually take. Good luck
