Contractions- when to call!?

Hey girls!   SO we are 37weeks pregnant (almost 38)... scheduled on the 28th right now, but likely to be moved up this coming thursday or friday WHOOO!! i am on heparin and asprin, so we need a little time to plan before induction/labor.. Anyhow, when i was at my weekly apt this past wednesday (i get weekly Biophysical profiles with NST's) it showed i was having pretty frequent contractions- a few of them 50 on a scale of 0-100.... anyhow the past few hours i've been having a lot more- they feel about like the 50's felt.. and they are coming every 4-5 minutes or so.. When are you supposed to call? after it goes on for a full hour like that? or when they get closer together? the thing is baby is still high, and cervix is high and totally closed! (as of wednesday). Thanks so much!!!!

Good luck to you!!!  I hope you have an easy delivery.  I wouldn't really know to much about when to go to the hospital either b/c I was already in the hospital when I had contractions and my water broke.  Then all that good stuff.  I had twins so I was in the hospital for a while & now I just found out I am having twins again.  Good luck again.  Wish u and your hubby the best!!!!

thanks so much!!! man they really subsided, guess that not uncommon though, for them to come and go.. i was getting really excited! but at least we have at least one more day to prepare the house! got the car seat in place and bag packed! I have been even more pukey the past two days.. which makes me even more ready to meet our little girl!!! (nine months of throwing up almost daily- whoo cant even imagine eating normally again!!) maybe all of our last minute nesting this weekend will kick the contractions into gear! :)

I had no contractions till my water broke at 40 weeks so I have no advice to give but I just wanted to wish you good luck and smooth delivery.  I am so very happy for you.

:) so excited for you.

I was in early labor bunches of times with my first- but when she came- she came fast- in like 10 minutes. Of course I kept going to the hospital to be sent home-- yadada. Dr. told me all these things to try and speed things up- have sex :), walk, massage the breast area ... and get a good night's sleep! :) And they also reminded me to be ok with slow labor- as babies are easier to take carer of on the inside thna on the outside. (Ok- sometimes.....)

Won't be long now.

Oh- and make sure your bag is ready to go- and the car seat- ;0

My midwife told me that they don't expect us to call them until we are 3-1-1. That means contractions are coming 3 minutes apart, lasting 1 full minute each, and that's been going on for an hour.

Sounds like you are getting there, how exciting!!!
