Low Blood Sugar?

Today, After I'd been dealing with a migraine and nausea for several hours, I suddenly became sweaty, shaky and lightheaded. I hadn't eaten much, I'd just been drinking water most of the day to keep hydrated. Anyway, I laid down and the symptons kept getting worse so I had my boys get me some candy from their Easter baskets. It seemed to help almost immediately. I've never experienced this before, but working in a nursing home, I've seen this on other people. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it mean I'll have gestational diabetes? Should I ask to have the glucose test early? I'm almost 22 weeks.

Thanks. I had thought of anemia but my iron levels were good at 6 weeks so I assumed they'd still be good. I'll ask about that.

I had an episode like yours around 20wks and a blood test revealed my iron levels were really low compared to the begining of the pregnancy.
It didn't come back up to normal levels even with just one 324mg pill per day, and I am on 2 per day now on top of my regular pre natals.

All those dizzy spells I had went away after started taking iron pills.

May be talk to your doctor about it.
