Low Testosterone

DH had his bloodwork done the other day and he has low testosterone still.  Haven't gotten the results of the sperm analysis yet, but I assume it's going to be low.  What are the options to treat this since testosterone replacement would most likely make him temporarily sterile.  Been ttc for almost a year and we keep having this issue.  The last doctor he saw for this issue gave him injectible testosterone without telling us that is would make his sperm count really low to nothing so we lost some months there.  Just feels like a never ending battle.

I'm sorry I don't know anything at all about this particular issue.  I did however want to wish you luck.

If you don't get good responses here, you try posting this in the Fertility Forum as well as the Men's Health Forum.  I hope this is resolved for you quickly!

Hey there-my husband and I just found out we're pregnant-I'm 46 and he's 47.  Talk about a shock!!!!  We just gave up.  Several years ago, my obgyn said that I seemed to be fine and wouldn't do any further testing on me until my husband had his sperm count checked.  Well, my husband would not go to the doctor.  He felt that God would let us have a baby if it was meant to be.  Well, 14 years later.....  Anyway, so I thought that because he had had mumps as a child, that played a factor.  But I had no way of knowing.  I had just accepted that we would never have a child.  Well, eight months ago, he went for a yearly checkup and had blood work done.  His thyroid came back slightly low.  The doctor gave him a choice to go on thyroid medication.  Said it really wasn't necessary because it wasn't that bad.  I told him to go ahead and go on it since the medication wasn't expensive.  And wa-la!!  So I'm sure there are many factors that could be a possibility.  Have his thyroid checked.  It plays a part in sperm production.  Good luck and God Bless, Toni
