Fetak Echo update

I spoke with the Dr about why he wanted this test.He said that although they did get a picture of my baby boy's heart and could see 4 chambers that it was not a very good pic and he would really like to get a clear pic of the baby's heart and he is not really worried(there were no markers for any type of defect) He just wanted to be able to get a clear pic.  This is an office that my dr sent me to because of my age and I guess that this is what he specialises in.  I am having the test done, but that is they last one. He is the same dr that pushed of an amnio and I have had 4 u/s in 20wks and they have not found anything wrong, also I have had no bleeding or cramping, and only a 11 lb weight gain but still have to go to an apt every 3 wks instead of 4,  Not that I really mind but this office is over and hour away and I have 3 disababled boys at home and it is very hard to find someone to pick them up from school and keep them untill I get home. So if all goes well I will be telling them NO MORE tests and once a month apt. thanks again

Well that is reassuring to hear!  They could have told you that when you first asked them to save you the added worry!!  It sounds like you have a "test happy" doctor too.  If you had 4 u/s by 20wks, and for no specific reason...you may want to consider bypassing this one.  But that's your call.  Please let us know what you decide!  Pam

It sounds like you have a very attentive Dr. which is good. However, you should never feel pushed into anything you are not ok with.  He should explain the pro's and con's of every test so that you are making a fully informed decision.  Good luck on your test, and I am glad to hear that all is well!!!
