Beta Quant Results

On May 14 i had my blood work confirming my pregnancy The progesterone is 28.41, which she said is really good. My beta quant level is 411, she would have liked to see it 1000. I went to get a blood test today but the lab was closed.
1. Should I worry about a miscarriage? I am 39 and my partner is 60.
2. Would it matter if I had my blood work done on Monday or did this have to be performed 48 hours after the last blood exam.
Thanks!

IT's hard to say if you're irregular, then what your hcg should be.....hopefully your just about a week late late.  It's good they are going back for a 2nd hcg level.  If it's doubling then that's a good sign that the pregnancy is progessing properly!  Good luck!

Hmm, well with that being said, I can see that the Dr. may be concerned on one hand but on the other, there's no way to know right? So, time will tell now. Monday's #'s should be about 1600 and we can go from there. If there is no cramping or bleeding, that's a good sign :)  Just try to relax, tomorrow will be here before you know it!  To me, miscarriage doesn't seem to be of a highly concern right now.

Firstly thank you all! I have never been on a chat room since now and I am amazed and grateful by how supportive everyone is. I only hope I can be of some assistance.

I believe I was about 2 weeks late with my period but I am highly irregular. Will go tomorrow for the blood test. Thanks!

doctors like it when your beta is about 100+ at 14DPO - the day you're period would have been due.  DPO = days past ovulation.   So if your beta was drawn at about 18DPO or 4 days after your period was due then 411 is a good starting number.   However, if has been two weeks since you're period was due that makes you about 6 weeks pregnant 411 is not such a great hcg number.

So what kellym is trying to find out is how many days late (from your period) were you when you had your pregnancy blood test????

I'm guessing that when you had your beta number drawn you were about a week late. And that's why you're doctor would have liked to see your hcg # at about 1000.

Well, I don't get how your Dr. is looking for a magical over 1,000 number?  How many days past ovulation were you when you did your first beta?  OR did you do IVF or IUI?
For instance, my first # was 26. Seems low, but numbers need to start somewhere. I am now 13 weeks pregnant :) SO, It doesn't matter that the labs were closed. Monday will be fine. They will just do the math of the 411. So, if your beta was 411 on Thursday, they will be hoping for about 1600 on Monday.  But, like i said, how many days past ovulation were you to make her want a higher number?

Thank you!!! I am freaking out here and your email is a tremendous help so far. Alas, I am knew to the terms. I had a blood test at the lab, this past Thursday. She liked the prog. levels but said the beta quant should be higher. I was supposed to have another test today but the lab closed at noon, and it is clsed tomorrow. WIll it be too late on Monday since that will be over 3 days. Thanks again, can't wait till I learn about the health of this child We have wanted this so badly.

It depends on what we are comparing the 411 to.  Was it your first beta? How many DPO or did you do IUI? I need a little bit more info :) Congrats though, from what you say things seem good :0)
