Measuring behind at 7w us and no fetal pole?

I had an ultrasound last week at 7w1d from my LMP of 12/9/09.  I got a BFP on 1/3.   I have a tilted uterus so they had to do a transvaginal us.  They found the gestational sac and yolk sac.  They looked great.  They only measured at 5w5d and she couldnt find the fetal pole.   I have another us on Thursday (a week later).   This will be at the maternal fetal specialist.   Has anyone else had this happen and then found the baby a week later?  With my other pregnancies we saw them at 7 weeks.    I will be 42 on Feb 15.  My girls are 2 and 4.

With my getting a bfp on 1/3 I dont see how I could just be behind.  Maybe I have a slow grower or the equipment on the first us wasnt as advanced.   My cycle is 27/28 days so I would have been due around 1/6.   Normally I wouldnt have tested that early but my instincts told me to since I was due to have an MRI that day.

Any advice, stories, etc are welcomed.   Even if they don't find anything Thurs I do not plan to rush into any decisions.

It's so hard to say right now what is happening.  It is so early still, and it could simply be a matter of your ovulation dates being off.  This can happen even with a BFP at the time you got it.  I know how stressful a time this is and the wait and see is so incredibly frustrating.  Your next ultrasound should give you a better answer and I wish you well.  Please let us know how it goes.  Good luck and take care.

Hey there.  I'm so sorry you are going through this uncertain time :(    Do you have any spotting or cramping, or any signs that this preg might not be viable?

I have not heard of any instances where the fetal pole was seen, then it was not seen. But that doesn't mean there it hasn't happened.

What about your tilted uterus, could that somehow be playing into this??? Just throwing some ideas out there.
