Dont stress - I just went to see my Dr again because IT HAS SPREAD TO MY OTHER EYE!! ( I look like an alien!), and he prescribed the cream for my eye. I asked him if it was dangerous and he said the only reason they dont classify it as a safe cream is because they have not done enough conclusive tests on pregnant women to see what kind of side effects they have. But he seemed pretty confident that I should be okay and when I checked it with the pharmisist she did some research and told me that what minute amount does seep into the skin stays local anyway and doesnt travel around to other parts of the body.
BTW - a friend of mine did not know that she was pregnant till she was almost three months, and she took Buscupan (dont know if you have that there in America) but its basically for tummy upsets, and she took it for a few days straight. Afterwards when she found out she was pregnant she checked the box and saw in large print DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT. So of course she freaked out - but her boy is almost 8 months now and healthy and fine!
Oh CR.AP!!!!!!
I've had a nasty cold and woke up one day with cold sore ALL over my lips, lower lip, and upper lip... even in the crevices of the mouth... gross!!.... i was putting vicks to keep it moist but only got worse! i had the mouth of frikin' Charles Barkley! =( so i used abreva for 1 day... didn't think it'd be (DUH!!!!) medication......
Oh uh.....
does anyone know if it is dangerous?? i used it only that one day!...
Im so sorry to the original poster but it freaked me out to read the opinions of the girls!!! =S
I get them but thankfully only got 1 during EARLY pg and before I even thought about it used my abreva...then remembered I was PG duh and wped it off immediately, and used nothing and luckily didnt get another all PG. Perty is right I would check before i used anything. hang in there they usually dont last tooooo long
i know this sounds odd, but a friend of mine used to get them all the time. he bought a juicer and started to juice his symptoms away. well broccoli has something good for cold sores and he swears in the past few years not one cold sore!! maybe it would work for you but i thought id pass it on anyway. good luck!!
do not ever use any meds without asking a pharmacist if your dr isnt available. many meds are ok, but see it isnt the ingestion, it can be absorbed through the skin as well. hold off till you call a pharmacist.
