New Here, Hoping This Isn't AF....

Hi ladies

I'm new here, and thrilled to finally find a BB where women with the same symptoms are posting and helping one another. A little background: I'm 38, have one child, and am TTC (2nd cycle). This cycle began 8/21 and DH and I "tried" on cycle days 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. AF is due Friday (9/18). I've been spotting since the weekend (mostly very light, off and on, but had a bit more once this afternoon). I'm convinced it's pre-AF spotting (what I like to call "the pre-game show"), but I want so badly to believe I'm pregnant. Left breast is KILLING me and my husband acknowledges they're swollen. Hyper-emotional, restless at night, intermittent nausea, really strange lower-GI issues the last week (sorry--TMI), strange blood sugar issues (happened with first pregnancy), peeing like crazy, and BBT consistently .3 degrees higher than before ovulation.

Here's the kicker: I have taken 4 HPTs, all negative, and the waiting is making me crazy. Does anyone have any suggestions? In the meantime, I am going to buy stock in the company that makes aimstrips.

Oh, and Wendy.... Pregnancy is wonderful... I got through some serious morning sickness feeling overjoyed and popping Gin Gins candies like a true addict (they were a LIFE SAVER). It wasn't until the late 3rd trimester that I got really uncomfortable and cranky. It was at exactly 38 weeks that I told my son-to-be, "Geeeeet ouuuuuuuuuuuut" and he did...that very night.  :)

Baby dust!

Cantalina - congratulations! How exciting for you!  :)

Wendy - unfortunately, AF arrived yesterday (a day early, and with a vengeance). So, this time it was AF. I was bummed, but have accepted it and am looking forward to the next month. I just booked a trip to Orlando yesterday and I am SO excited. I won't have morning sickness, and DH and I can work on baby #2 while we're away with our son. Thanks for all your good wishes, and I am crossing everything for you this month!

Although whatever happens happens - I'm really excited for you guys!

I haven't been pregnant yet, but I've always felt the possibility of pregnancy was big fun. Just ovulated ... I'll be in your boat in two weeks.

I was very confused  but finally got a "Yes +"  on  frer  gold   yesterday  20 dpo ,  but answer  test was still  very light lines .  Iv been havin af  cramps the whole time  but bbs  r like double  in size so i knew  those  test  were messin with me.

HI Wendy

Thanks for the warm welcome and advice. I've decided to shrug and take the "whatever happens happens" attitude." AF is due tomorrow, and only then will I even consider testing again. I think, at least to some extent, I can blame my early-testing fanaticism on the HPT boxes and ads that scream "Find out 5 days sooner!" and the other websites (twoweekwait.com, which I love) because there are all these posts from women who tested positive at 10 DPO.

"Whatever happens happens...whatever happens happens...whatever happens happens...ohmmmmmmmm....."

Smiles,
B

Hiya and welcome to the group!

I love your sense of humour. It's proof you'll survive. I'm with the others - stop the testing insanity and try to keep cool. HPT negatives mean nothing this early.

But keep us posted and feel free to blarb!

heh heh  I don't think my OB will give me a blood test until I miss AF, so I will try my darnedest to hang in there until Monday. I just ordered a 50-pack of Ov sticks and 20 aimstrips from babyhopes. The irony should be a clear indicator of pregnancy. Yeehaw.

Thanks for the dose of reality. I appreciate it.  =)

STOP with the tests! Stop the madness!  We all should end up buying stock in clearblue, etc. LOL!!!!

I would just call the DR and get a quick HCG test which they can get results by end of day.

Sometimes, the tests are not always sensitive enough to pick up HCG so early. The blood test would be a definate yes or no.

I took 6 tests at 10 DPO, half negative ,half positive.

Instead of driving yourself NUTSO and taking out a 2nd mortgage on the house for more HPT...just get a blood test. :-)

Good luck!!! Hope its a BFP
