and...what about the measurements?
I am still seeing same OB, however when you are pregnant with twins they do more ultrasounds. They say the reason they don't like to do them is because insurance won't pay for it. I do like my doctors however, they were great last time when I started dilating early.
Consider yourself lucky!! You may gain more weight as your pregnancy develops, but for now enjoy your body!! I was all belly when I was pregnant, I gained 20lbs, and all of it was gained in the last 4 months I was pregnant. Are you still seeing the OB that doesn't like to do u/s's? Have all the measurements taken of your twins to date been normal? Keep us posted!
Thanks for the comments, I was beginning to get worried this morning when I weighed myself. With Ethan, I only gained 14 lbs but I was expecting a lot more with twins, hopefully it will come soon,
Hi,
I'm 33 wks now and have been going in every two weeks lately. On my last visit, I had not gained any weight either. I only gained three pounds by the time I was 4 mos and had no nausea at all, but since then I've gained 18 pounds which is about what I should gain by now. In one three week period, I had gained 7 pounds, then the next time, 5 pounds! It could be that I had water weight gain earlier and got rid of the extra water.
I do think that my metabolism had something to do with not gaining much during those times. Everything I eat now seems to go right through me, but I do not have any diarrhea and I 've been eating very well. No nausea or any other problems. I will ask the doctor next time if the baby is growing as expected. I seem to be getting bigger every day. I thought everything must be OK since he didn't say anything to me about it when he measured me last time and he knows I am a high risk patient (51).
I have heard a lot about women losing weight the first trimester. I think its pretty normal to either not gain anything or lose in that time frame. I bet all is just fine with those twins!! But if concerned, you should always let your OB know. Best of luck to you, and wishing you a healthy 24 remaining weeks!!
