I had all the testing done knowing we would not abort except for a taysaks diagnosis but we just wanted to be prepared.

I did the genetic testing too it eased my mind to find out neither of us carried any traits for any defects. I went in with the mindset to let them do whatever they needed, but my Dr. is extremely informative & helpful, NEVER pushy so she's definitely a blessings to have on my side.

I wouldn't bother with it myself. I had perfectly normal, healthy babies at 36, 38, 40, 43, and am expecting to deliver in 5 months at 45. There's a lot of needless pressure and worry placed on women. You are not an old mommy! Your baby will quite likely be absolutely perfect!

I had my 3rd baby at 38 and now 4th at 40. They offer a harmony test at my Dr about 10-12 weeks which is a blood draw to test for problems. They do more ultrasounds and you can have genetic counseling to see what risks are. There not much higher for most until age 42.
