Placenta Previa

I have a complete placenta previa and wondering if anyone out there has gone through it. My OB/GYN says she will do an amniocentesis at 36 weeks to see if lungs are developed enough, then deliver baby at that time. This is all to avoid potential labor, which can be detrimental to the baby if it progresses.
I'm very worried.............baby needs to stay in the uterus longer than that!!

I also had a complete placenta previa among some other issues.  My OB also said that they did not want me to go into labor on my own as it could be serious.  So they did the amnio one day short of 37 weeks and the baby was born :-)  She was 6 pds 11 ozs!  It's safer to be born a little early then to risk going into labor and hemorrhaging!

He is probably worried about you too. He is thinking hemorrhage. Two weeks is no big deal. Placenta previa is.
