Boy name: I'm having second thoughts!

I thought that my mind was made up... I even got the big Pottery Barn Kids wall letters for M-A-X but the more I think about it, the more I'm freaking out! Our last name sounds a lot like Bond... our first son's name is Lukas...

Keep in mind that we're french so we need an international name, easy to say both in English and French

I'm worried that 2 short names sounds bad and too abrupt (like Jack Black), and we're supposed to match a long surname to a short last name...( like Harrison Ford)

please give me your honest opinion! HELP!

Brandon is my husband's name! (He's 34, and has only known a handful of Brandons through the years.)

I really like your initial choice Max.  I also really like Mathis.  They are both a bit different without being "out there".  Like so many others said, I bet the minute you lay eyes on him the right name will come to you!

I've experienced the same thing as Yvette and Tanker - that the boy names I picked out turned out to be one of the more popular names of the year.  I knew it w/Noah but didn't when I picked out my first son's name - Brandon.  I thought it was a cool name that nobody had!  Boy, I was dead wrong.

Anyway despite that I have a great dog named Max, I still love the name Max Spencer the best - it's classic.

I agree with Yvette...sometimes you have to just wait and see what your baby looks like. Maybe pick your two favorites, then decide when you see him. When my daughter was born, I ended up picking a name I hadn't even *considered while pregnant. She was going to be Cassidy. When she was born, she just didn't LOOK like a Cassidy...lol. I had watched my soap opera that day, and decided she looks a lot like an Alexandra (one of the soap characters). The name fits her to a tee, and I love her nick-name - Lexie. Although Lexie has gotten more popular with the younger girls, she never had any classmates with the same name - she's almost 19. Now, my son, I knew what I would name him from the time I found out he was a boy. Same with this one...I'm not waivering at all. :-)

Maybe you can wait and see what the baby looks like.   You might get a better idea if he's a max, adam or Jacob.

At first I planned to named my son Matthew Ryan...but I looked at him more and decided I liked Ryan Matthew better.   I still like calling him matthew.   He's 19 now and he says he likes the way it ended up.   But my goodness like Tanker Chic said,,,,Ryan ended up being a very popular name.   One year there were 4 Ryan's in his class...one was a girl!!  Oh well.....One good thing was that he never was teased about his name.

Sorry more infor than you asked for.....however, out of your choices...I like Max and Mathis the best.

This might not be an issue for you, but I thought I would let you know just in case..  My son's name is Jacob and I never realized how popular it was until I picked it.  And it isn't just because I notice it more... I've actually seen it posted in several articles as the most popular name for 2006 thru 2008.  I love the name... but part of me wishes I hadn't picked one that was SO popular.

My two favorites were Max and Mathis.  I have a french friend and his name is Laurent.  I always thought that was a nice name.  best of luck to you!!

You first chose Max Spencer, right?...I LOVE the name Spencer.  Our name choice if we were having another boy was Spencer Dominic, but we're having a girl.   Honestly, (and you did say be honest, right : )...I'm not crazy about any of your name choices, BUT, if this is what you narrowed it down to and your final selection, I like Adam the best.  Good Luck!!
