Pregnancy and Hematuria

Hello,

I am 18 weeks pregnant and we are excited to welcome the new addition in our family. But, I have a microscopic hematuria for the past 3 years. Initially my urinalysis just showed RBC between 0-2/HPF. After a year it was 2-3/HPF, but recently I got an urinalysis done and found some red flags along with elevated level of RBC's. Here is the report-

LEUKOCYTE ESTERASE (U) 1+
BLOOD (U) 1+
SPECIFIC GRAVITY (U) 1.004   1.001 - 1.035
WBC (U) 3-5  /HPF
RBC (U) 3-5 /HPF
SQUAMOUS EPITHELIAL CELLS 1+
BACTERIA (U) 1+  /HPF

Is this alarming? I am nervous about the report and would like to request your advice on this.

Thank you.

Tracy

After pregnancy, I got microscopic hematuria. It is there for 3 years. Did you get it after your first child as well? For me, they said not to worry. What did specialist tell you?

Congrats on your pregnancy!  So exciting!!  So, you've had this for three years.  Have they ever determined why you have it?  What is the cause of the miniscule amounts of blood in your urine.  In the latest lab report, could you be developing a UTI?  The leukocyte elevation is what makes me wonder that.  Do you have any kidney issues that have been diagnosed?  UTI's are common during pregnancy and women get them treated and everything is fine.  Anyway, when do you follow up with your doctor to go over the report?

Thank you for replying to my post. I got a cystoscopy and CT scan done 3 years back. There was no sign of kidney issues or ulcers, but during cystoscopy the doctor did find 2-3 small red areas in urothelium suspicious for chronic cystisis.
Last year I went to a different urologist (since we moved). He said some people have hematuria life long and as long as you don't have any pain you should be fine. I am still concerned about the blood in urine. And now that I am pregnant, it makes me wonder if there is any undiagnosed issue going on!

I just got the urine culture report and it is negative. So I am guessing there is no UTI.

Please advice.
Hi, been a few days, sorry.  What ended up happening?  Did you speak to your doctor about this??
They asked me to follow up with a specialist.
