Progeserone Suppositories

Good morning :)  Well, I was prescribed progesterone suppositories because my luteal phase averages 9-10 days & I've been TTC since February last year.  I started taking the progesterone two weeks ago.  I'm past my usual luteal phase.  It's now 12 DPO & no sign of AF, yet negative pregnancy tests.  I usually at least get spotting by 9 DPO, but so far, nothing.
Has anyone had experience with progesterone supp. while TTC?  I'm curious to know if AF will appear if she's supposed to while I'm taking the progesterone, or if she won't appear till after I stop taking it??  Sounds like a silly question, but I'm going by bits and pieces that I've read elsewhere.  Also, if I'm 12 DPO, shouldn't I get a positive HPT by now, or should I just wait it out?  I can't call my doctor till Monday (and maybe by then AF will come or I'll get a positive HPT).  I'm hoping for the +HPT, but don't want to be too let down if that doesn't happen.
Also, what side effects does Progesterone have?  I mean, I feel nauseous & I have times where I feel like my face is really hot??  Not sure if that means anything !
Thanks for your help !  :)

Hi.  Thanks for your response :)  No, I didn't use Clomid or estradiol.  I just started the Progesterone this cycle, so if I'm not pregnant, I have questions for my doctor for next time.  I've read that you shouldn't take it till after you've ovulated, but my doctor put me on it starting CD 16, since I generally ovulate on CD 17-18.  She also said to take it til I get AF and then stop, but after reading online, I'm wondering if AF will come if I'm taking it??  I noticed some people were told to stop after 14 days and then AF comes.
How long have you used Prog.?  I usually spot by 9DPO and today is 13DPO, so I'm hopeful, but confused 'cause I don't have telltale signs :)  I haven't had AF-type cramps or any spotting, like I normally do & I am nauseous, tired, and I got dizzy last night, but it was just a quick thing that didn't last long.  It's hard to know whether these are just symptoms of the Prog.  One thing I have noticed is I get a cramp-like feeling on my right side.  I wouldn't even call it a cramp, though.  It's more like a sharp pain or stitch??
Anyway, thanks for your help.  I think I'll call my doctor tomorrow if AF doesn't come & my HPT is still negative :)

WOW!  your situation is so much like mine it's scary! I too am taking progesterone and was wondering about the AF thing.. I called my doc on friday and asked if I could just come in, I told them I don't think I am pregnant and wanted more clomid.. They won't give it to me unless they check my ovaries first. (so they don't explode I guess) I am supposed to get AF on Tues, and I too am so anxious. I only  feel kinda nauseous every once and a while and I think that is the progesterone.. I also get dizzy from it too. Did you do clomid and the estradiol as well? I tell you, talk about the crazy hormones!  I hope you get a pos, and then you can call the doc for an "appointment" :) I have never had my face feel hot, but who knows, it can effect us all differently.  I wish I could have answered your question better but I thought you would feel better knowing you aren't the only person that feels like she is going crazy :) Take care and good luck! God bless
