The progesterone should not affect the viability of the pregnancy test, but don't give up if the test is negative the day before- I wouldn't stop using the progesterone until you were absolutely sure because suddenly stopping can cause a m/c.
I also had two miscarriages before using progesterone to stay pregnant (twice)- I hope you have success as well! Best wishes!
Hello, I am just 43 and have just had, what i suspect, is my second miscarriage. I had my first one last September, I was only 6 weeks and had barely got used to the idea of being pregnant. This time I was 5 weeks and started bleeding, it lasted for about 2 days and then turned to a brown discharge, i have to do a pregnancy test monday 10th may and if it's negative then i've miscarried. I'm starting to wonder if my body just can't handle being pregnant. My doctor said if it happened again then they would do some tests to find out why I keep miscarrying. I don't take anything to help the pregnancy, just folic acid. I haven't been advised to take anything else but wonder if I am deficient in something and that's why I keep miscarrying. We will keep trying as I've finally got to the stage where I would love to have a baby and am with a lovely man who is also desperate for children and would be a great father.
Let me know how it goes. After my second miscarriage, I had all the blood tests and a hysteroscopy ( where they check out the uterus with a camera). Everything was fine. My doc suggested progesterone suppositories to be taken 3 days after ovulating until my period comes, and if I do get pregnant, a baby aspirin for coagulation (I'm not sure when that would start.) She said these things can help and certainly wouldn't hurt. I, too don't take anything to produce more eggs, but do take my pre-natals. It might just be the chromosome thing, and not anything else. In that case, we just have to keep trying until a healthy egg is produced. It's hard I know. It sounds like we are in the same boat with a lot of things, but don't give up hope with this one. Everything could be fine. Let me know.
