I had terrible rls through both of my pregnancies.  Hot bath helped some but sometimes I'd be in the tub 3 times a night.  Icy hot was wonderful but I found out later that it wasn't a good idea to use it on a regular basis.  strangely enough, rubbing Vicks on my calves helped some.  Not as well as the Icy hot but it did help. Iron supplements did nothing, or eating bananas as people often suggest.  The good news is of you don't have Rls when your not pregnant it usually goes away immediately.  As soon as my babies were born it was gone, the same day!

Here's some advice from the MedHelp website and our I'm Expecting app on leg cramps. You can find this in the app by going to the Pregnancy Diary from the home screen and selecting Leg cramps from the Symptoms menu. Then click the menu bar in the upper left and select Symptoms Manual to see your symptoms. Hope you feel better soon!

I have this. Pregnancy makes it worse. Ask your Dr to test your Iorn, that's what causes mine, but you should not take iorn supplements without first speaking to your Dr. The medication for it has not been proven safe for pregnancy. I usually take a warm bath or put heating pads on my legs. I've not found much else to be helpful.
